If you’ve ever seen me DJ you have heard this song. Why? because it is my favorite Electro song of all time, and now it is yours to have.
1) A City Under Siege – Boy 8-Bit
The first time I ever heard this song was walking into Maisonette 9 in GTA IV. GTA has enriched my life in so many ways but this is definitely up there. A better version of the popular “Samirs Theme” if you ask me, “A City Under Siege”‘s hook point is its simplicity. But that’s the magic in it. a brilliant trumpet riff over pulsing tribal drums and you have yourself an instant classic.

I’ve always been a fan of Van She ever since their “Ice Cream” remix which was featured in Entourage. They have an excellent diverse production style which continues to expand to new sounds.
1) Pick up the Phone (Michael Van She Remix)-Dragonette
Something about this song reminds me of a candy store. There is an inherently playful melody flowing through this track, perhaps it is dragonette’s charming vocals, perhaps it is Van She’s driving beat, whatever it is it works and I reccomend you download.

By now surely you know that LMFAO is performing Friday, March 12th, at the Orpheum theater. tickets can be found here: http://www.ppeevents.com/
Let’s get on to my two favorite LMFAO remixes though.
1) La La La (Hypercrush Remix)-LMFAO
I’ll be honest. To this day I am still yet to hear the original to this song. This remix is more than enough for me though. The chorus is infectuous, and there is something familiar about it…Something that will have you singing along with it the second time you hear the cut, especially if you have a couple shots of Patron in you. Hypercrush almost steals the show with her verse, which really fits into the song perfectly.

2) Let the Bass Miami Bitch-LMFAO
As you can tell by the terribly hashed together title, this is a Mash-up. Thankfully the song works a lot better than the title. Chuckie’s “Let the Bass Kick” has been remixed to death, but this is probably my favorite one. LMFAO’s vocals sync perfectly with the nice little build-up at 1:22 also.

don’t forget to buy your tickets before they run out. it’s going to be a night to remember
Yo. Before you start ganking me for posting this track, that everybody obviously has by now, just stop thinking about yourself for one goddamn second you spoiled brat and pretend that you had never heard this song before…How happy would you be to listen to it again for the first time? Exactly. We are going to make somebody very happy today.
1) Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)
Every now and then a song comes along that is capable of changing the entire dynamic of the game, as if the game was on a leash and you just yanked it by the neck and took it in a different direction. A-trak, the youngest DMC champ ever, and Kanye West’s DJ, Can stop producing right this instant and his contribution to the game will have been sufficient enough for everyone to pat him on the back and say, “Well done old sport”. Keeping the lyrics entirely intact, and building the song around these lyrics with diligent production, this is an INSTANT CLASSIC.

Chocolate Mulq is here. From the creator of 2PercentMulq comes a Hip-Hop blog on a mission to remind everyone what Real Hip-Hop sounds like. Peep it.
Oh the irony that 3 days ago I post my favorite Swedish House Mafia cuts and then I catch wind of a track like this.
1) First off let it be known that every Miike Snow single that has graced my ears has been golden. The remixes are equally superb however. Lead-Man Andrew Wyatt’s voice was seemingly made for a Dirty South remix, and if you have at all been paying attention to the blog, or know anything about house music, you won’t be surprised that the break in this song is the kind of break that can turn a night from superb to Crunktacular.
Silvia (Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South Remix)
Something about this song’s simplicity, coupled with its danceability, makes me totally dig it. Perhaps it is the inner Caribe in me.
1) Calypso (Original Mix) – Round Table Knights & Bauchamp
Perhaps it is the fact that Calypso steel drums and 128-bpm bass-lines are meant for one another. Perhaps it is the dope retro music video that looks like a mix of Michael Mann and Hype Williams that accompanied the release of the EP. Perhaps it is the sick build-up accompanied with a drop that has the smoke-machine like hiss that seems to be such a comforting aural stimulant for all clubgoers. whatever it may be I highly reccomend downloading this track.
